Walking along the lovely rows of Sunflowers at Jorgensen Farms, watching honey bees busily moving from one flower to the next, one would never guess that our precious honeybees are in danger. As part of Local Foods Week, Jorgensen Farm hosted a movie night on their beautiful farm, showing Queen of the Sun, a documentary about the importance of bees, how bees thrive, and what may be causing the decline of the honeybee. A crowd of around fifty gathered in the barn to listen to a local beekeeper talk about his experiences with bee keeping, watch the film, and taste delicious local honey, right from the comb.
