Organizations

Pesticide Action Network

Pesticide Action Network North America (PAN North America, or PANNA) works to replace the use of hazardous pesticides with ecologically sound and socially just alternatives. PAN has partnered with QUEEN OF THE SUN and has begun a campaign to confront Bayer on their production of neo-nicotinoid pesticides, which are a factor in Colony Collapse Disorder. PAN challenges the global proliferation of pesticides, defends basic rights to health and environmental quality, and works to ensure the transition to a just and viable society. Sign PAN’s petition to ban bee-killing pesticides.

Your Garden Show & The Citizen Science Project

One way you can take action to help the bees is by joining our partner website YourGardenShow.com, a new social media site that is supporting a Citizen Scientist initiative called the Great Sunflower Project. You can plant bee-friendly flowers, and count the bees and other pollinators in your own backyard.  You enter the tally into your personal “online laboratory, ” and the bee count is submitted into a pioneering research study on the economic value of urban pollinators, organized through San Francisco State University. At YouGardenShow.com, we see bees and we count them – and you can too! Visit www.yourgardenshow.com/citizenscience to start your online laboratory today!

Slow Food International

Bees: Lectures by Rudolf Steiner

In his lectures on Bees in 1923, Rudolf Steiner predicted the dire state of the honeybee today.
